India made it three wins in three matches as they beat Germany 6-3 in the FIH Pro League mini tournament at Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium here on Monday. It was one of their biggest wins against Germany in recent times and comes a day after they beat Australia 5-4 in another 9-goal thriller. For India, Abhishek and Selvan Karthi scored a brace while Harmanpreet Singh and Jugaraj Singh sounded the board once each from penalty corners as they made it a night to remember for the fans who turned up in numbers.

Barring the third quarter, India dominated the game thoroughly and made great use of the aerial balls. They also controlled the midfield well and Pawan once again impressed in front of the goal. This win not only helped India to climb to the top of the Pro League table with 17 points from 7 matches but also boosted their morale that took a huge hit afer their elimination from the World Cup. They will now hope to end the tournament on a high when they face off against Australia once again on Wednesday.

Germany, on the other hand, were quite shattered after they let in two goals in the last quarter and were defensively quite poor by their standards. They will now look to end the tournament on a winning note when they face Australia here on Tuesday before going back to home. Earlier, the first chance of the match went to India but Sukhjeet Singh failed to deflect Gurjant Singh's shot from almost in front of the goal in the third minute, and within seconds Germany earned the first PC which Tom Grambusch converted.

Despite conceding early, India kept up the pressure and finally equalized six minutes into the second quarter when they earned their first PC Jugraj took the shot and slammed it straight into the net past Alexander Stadler. The goal opened the flood gates and Abhishek made it 2-1 in the next minute itself. Germany were in no mood to stay back and they equalized in the next minute again as Gonzalo Peillat scored from their third PC. But India took back the lead in the next minute after Karthi found the net through a field goal. Going 3-2 up, India upped the ante and earned another PC in the 25th minute. Harmanpreet coolly converted it to make it 4-2.
